Division was to attack and then to cross the Meuse.
After midnight of November 1-2, and during the morning of the 2d, the troops of the 179th
Brigade were moving forward to occupy the corps objective. The 357th Infantry got into position on the
right, but the 1st Battalion, 358th Infantry, captured four prisoners and suffered some losses from shell-
fire before getting into place. During the night of November 2 the battalions of both regiments
continued the march to get in position for the passage of lines through the 180th Brigade.
