Most ammunition fired in one day was on June 12, 1944 in the Amfreville attack: 2981 rounds.
Most effective mission: One gun, one round, one tank.
The ammunition train traveled 10000 miles in 11 months. Their longest single trip was
212 miles round trip. Their shortest was 5 miles round trip. In all their travels only 4 trucks broke
down.
The authorized strength of the Battalion is 34 officers, 2 warrant officers, 473 enlisted
men. From D-day to VE-day we had 61 officers, 2 warrant officers and 591 enlisted men.
