Dear 90th ID association!

at first I want describe you who I am. I´m Stefan Deisenroth. A german Police Ltd. I´m a member ot the 11th Cav Museum www.pointalpha.com. Moreover I was member of the 1st Bde. 1st AD Museum in Friedberg Germany. I made a lot of exhibitions for the US Army during my time as I collect and restore US Army cars and tanks. We were at the 50th / 60th annivarsary in Normandy / Ardenns etc. More than 50 exhibitions we made by some german volunteers in US Army Uniforms.
The US Army 5th Corps gave me at a official happening at OP Alpha the order to make a exhibition in Merkers / Thueringen. The most of you know that small village. They have this year a 700 year party of theire village.
One of the mainparts of the party will be the liberation from the US Army 90th ID.
I have the honor to make a display with living history there. Some US Generals are invited. the old Post-building will occupied again. A big procession will be there and we will walk for you as liberaters through the village.

I hope to show your divison as they found the "Reichsschatz" as good as possible. We have a lot of Willys Jeeps, some GMC´s and one Halftrack....

My question is, if anyone has pic´s or informations for me wich could be important please send me a email.

If you are interested in I would show in your forum pic´s of that event. Moreover if someone is interested to visit us a this special event I would organize a vip look after for him....

plesae contact me!

Take care!

Admin note: I moved this to this section of the forum as it didn't belong in the Reunion, Events and News Section which is reserved for 90th Association activities. This is probably the most appropriate place to put it.

Stefan: good luck in your venture !!!!!

I visited the Merkers salt mine when I was with my school in Germany, and that was very great.

It´s a very nice experience the visit in the Saltmine! The rooms are still in the same condition as the Army found it. But without the Gold ;-)

They put a Willy´s Jeep in the room where the gold was laying...

If anyone is interested in a visit... I could send some informations!

Best Regards!

Stefan

I haven´t seen the willy´s jeep there. I was there before he was under the earth. Please let me know how the right bumber codes should be!

I Know the chief of the Saltmine and I will tell him that mistake. Moreover I have to look if the Jeep is a real willy´s and no french copy :-)

Thanks!
