Robert F. Bladis, 78, of
Mountainside died on Thursday, Sep-
tember 11, at Overlook Hospital in
Summit.
Born in Newark, he had resided in
Union before relocating to
Mountainside 40 years ago.
Prior to retiring, Mr. Bladis had
co-owned Atlantic Metal Products in
Springfield, a custom sheet metal
fabrication firm.
During World War II, he served
with United States Army Company
C, 315th Engineer Battalion. He saw
action in Normandy, Northern
France, Rhineland and Central Eu-
rope. Mr. Bladis was awarded the
European-African-Middle Eastern
Medal, the Good Conduct Medal
and the Victory Medal.
Surviving are his wife, Gloria A.
Bladis; a son, Richard Bladis of
Mountainside; a daughter, Donna
Rosenski of Mountainside; four
grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at
10 a.m. today, Thursday, September
18, at the Our Lady of Lourdes Roman
Catholic Church in Mountainside.
Arrangements were handled by the
Bradley-Brough Funeral Home in
Summit.
